Contracting & Engineering

The core activities conducted by Universal Electro-Mechanical Systems (UEMS) are divided into two main divisions including construction works and trading for products that are related to electro-mechanical construction works. Construction works are usually implemented for the construction of mechanical and electrical works related to newly constructed buildings such as hospitals, schools, administration and institutional buildings mainly in Bethlehem and Jerusalem Governorates of the West Bank region. UEMS has been involved also in civil construction works depending on the projects’ requirements.

The construction projects that UEMS gets involve with are of tender type that mainly requires a well knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering systems. The tenders that UEMS apply for are usual for a broad sector of services including local and national organizations (Governmental, non-governmental organizations, and private organizations); noting that UEMS is classified as 2nd grade in Electro-mechanical contracting and 4th grade in civil construction in the Palestinian Contracting Union (PCU)[1]. UEMS is also short listed with several non-governmental organization such as local banks, governmental bodies such as, Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MEHE), Ministry of Health (MoH)  and international bodies such as UNDP, KFW, USAID, AVSI, HCEF, UNPOS.

In addition, UEMS get involve with construction project upon call due to its good reputation and strong networking with private sector and other contracting firms. UEMS also provides its constructing services to in sub-contracting form with other civil contractors. This opens another sector of projects, since some calls for tenders are only intended for grade “A” civil construction contractors which requires from us to be sub-contracting with those types of firms.
